Unreal 5 - Learning Project - Porsche Mission E showcase

Over the past few months, I have put as much time as possible into learning new tools and tricks. From Substance Painter to Rigging in Maya to all the new stuff in Unreal5. For that purpose, I created a new personal project to test out all these new learnings.

Even though I have been actively working in UE for the past few years, I never had a chance to properly learn Sequencer and the animation toolkit. Here was a good opportunity. The final scene is fully rendered in Unreal5, mostly in [customized] backdrops Epic provided.

I used Epic's "City Sample" as the backdrop of my final project. Via this process, I had to fully invest in learning World Partition and how to customize certain section of the city to my benefit.
Also improve upon the lighting already existing.

This set of images shows the importance of Substance Painter work.

The final result (Left) is a combination of Unreal procedural texture (Right) + pure Substance Painter output (Middle)

I am using the new(ish) material layer setup for this work. There were some additional tricks needed to get "Coated Material" working in the system.

The entire car is made out of 10 different texture sheets - all going fully through Substance Painter workflow.
UDIMs are pretty great in this regard.

The orignal model was downloaded from Sketchfab... but I had to pretty much rebuild the entire thing to make sure I would not have any issues down the line.
